► Anatomy of a serious boot

1. A sole. Rigid, it is especial on twisting, with deep figure of a protector. The standard is sole Vibram and its updatings.

2. Torsion element provides the above mentioned rigidity. Usually - a steel plate, less often - kevlar reinforced with a fiber.

3. Vibration damped layer from more elastic material. Gives softness of a course, reduces shock loadings on joints and a backbone. In the majority of designs in a combination with internal профилированной an insole, a protective welt and a sole carries out the important function - support of the arch stops.
4. A protective welt on perimeter of a boot. Protects from moisture and mechanical damages, essentially raises wear resistance and service life of a boot. It is used for fastening crampons.

5. An external layer is high-quality leather: Nubuk with factory water-repellent impregnation.

6. A heater and 7. An internal laye. frequently is executed "at the same time" (material Cambretle). As a heater basically synthetic materials, including Thinsulate are used. An internal layer in the most serious models or fabric with membrane technology ( Gore-Tex, Sympa-tex and so forth) or leather. Last squeak is an internal layer with antibacterial properties.
8. Lug. In serious models it is executed "at the same time" with all boot and has rigid and soft sites. Such design well protects from water and a dust and better fixes rise stops and ankle. Last two factors are especially important at walking on a heavy relief and on descents.

9.  Metal  crampons/hooks. Necessarily one pair hooks - locks - fixing rope.

10. Laces. System of asymmetric lacing it is used in soft models. I.e. at walking the boot is bent as well as stop of the person. It will improve blood supply of fingers and the probability of attritions decreases.

11. Top of a boot. Very important part: supports ankle, warning dislocations and damages of ligaments at long walking on a difficult lay of land under a backpack. At the same time gives a leg to bend in ankle. The internal, soft part is adapted to anatomy of a foot and densely fixes it, not allowing dangling and crawling in a boot. Hence, reduces probability of callouses and attritions. As against easy trekking models or models of crossing type, serious boots usually demand a careful choice on your foot and some period of adaptation. Usually they also serve much longer, and block the much greater range of temperatures and scopes.

12. The top soft welt/platen. are called to serve as a buffer zone between a rigid environment of a boot and your precious foot.

13. An insole. . Deserves separate warm words. There are the firms which specializing exclusively on release of insoles and have reached considerable heights. The good anatomic insole can save up to you many forces (and a leather stop), and also to bring in the essential contribution to removal of moisture. From technological pearls it is possible to note the rigid nylon pile holding an insole and stop above a condensate of a moisture, and even use of layers from the activated coal (!).

Ventilation is very important if not the main characteristic of trekking footwear. During active walking during 8 hours the foot allocates up to 250 ml sweat a kind damp pair. If it to not remove, your boots and socks will quickly dampen and will cease to warm a foot, to same crude boots it is a fast way to callouses and attritions.

Removal of moisture from a boot realize two ways

1. Ventilation due to expression of air through a top and special channel of a boot it occurs due to natural mobility of a foot, and as using special insoles "driving" air. If there is opportunities remove footwear on a halt or even unlace boots and give a foot to be aired. (Winter of it to make does not follow)

► 2. Ventilation due to use special membrane fabrics such as Gore-Tex, Sympa-tex and so forth it is necessary to be stipulated, that the membranes becoming rather fashionable recently (just backpacks yet do not made with a membrane), improve a boot. But, first, they well work only in very carefully thought over designs a boot "extorting" moisture (see a photo). Second, in footwear at a heavy use of a membrane serve not for a long time (from force a pair of good seasons).

Thermo socks (in detail read "Thermounderclothes")

&To removal of a moisture from a surface of a skin of your foots apply so-called thermo socks. The name "thermo" here is completely inappropriate since the primary goal of these socks to not keep heat, and to remove moisture on a surface of sock. Due to specially braided fibers, surfaces (evaporation) of sock are at 8-10 times more the areas of your foot. It allows evaporating faster moisture in space between your foot and a boot for the further conclusion of it outside. If in a boot bad ventilation or is absent at all from yours thermo socks use has more than from usual.

Обувь должна быть не тяжелой, спортивного типа и отвечать следующим требованиям: резиновая подошва имеет высокий рант (3-5 см), и "наплывать" в месте её соединения с кожей над верхней частью ботинок. При зашнуровывании вы довольно хорошо фиксируете лодыжку, тем самым снижая опасность вывиха. Если у вас нет туристских ботинок, можно заменить на армейские берцы или рабочие ботинки на 1-2 размера больше.
